Digitally communicating agricultural transformation
Policy storytelling and agricultural transformation
KCC used digital storytelling, multimedia content, and social media engagement to translate the Planting for Food and Jobs programme into accessible public-facing communications. The engagement expanded programme visibility and strengthened public understanding of its contribution to food security, employment, and agricultural development.
The Challenge
- Planting for Food and Jobs was a flagship agricultural transformation programme, but its scale and design were communicated largely in technical, policy-first language.
- Farmers, young people and the wider public struggled to see how the programme connected to food security, jobs and their own livelihoods.
- Programme progress needed to be documented and shared in formats suited to digital audiences.
Our Approach
- Translated policy documents and programme data into clear public-information narratives.
- Produced digital storytelling and multimedia content featuring real programme participants and field results.
- Ran sustained social media engagement to distribute content and respond to public questions.
- Supported media engagement so programme milestones were reported accurately and consistently.
Outcomes
- Expanded visibility for the Planting for Food and Jobs programme across digital and traditional media.
- Stronger public understanding of the programme's contribution to food security and employment.
- A reusable library of multimedia assets documenting agricultural transformation.
- Policy content made accessible to non-specialist audiences.
